About The Position

Beacon Specialized Living is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide hands-on care to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, and Autism. The CNA supports individuals with age-specific medical needs across residential programs, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The role focuses on safe, person-centered support that promotes dignity, respect, and community participation. Full-time, part-time, and on-call schedules are available.

Requirements

Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license.
GED or high school diploma.
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with daily living skills and personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and oral care.
Support toileting, repositioning, ambulation, and transfers.
Monitor individuals’ conditions and report changes to the supervising nurse.
Support community engagement and recreational activities.
Prepare meals and maintain a clean, organized home environment.
Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
Administer medications as directed.
Provide feeding assistance, including support with feeding tubes.
Perform basic wound care and catheter or colostomy care according to facility protocol.
Measure and record fluid intake and output.
Identify and apply preventative measures for high-risk conditions, including falls, choking, and Narcan use.
Maintain accurate documentation and advocate for individuals served.
Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered support.
