About The Position

Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing is actively seeking Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for shifts available from 7 AM to 3 PM and 3 PM to 11 PM. The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and some holidays. The Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA provides assistance to the professional nursing staff to meet the personal needs and comfort of the resident, under the supervision of the Nurse.

Requirements

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Must be available weekends.
General knowledge of the health care needs of geriatric residents.
General knowledge of Infection Control practices and Procedures including Protective Equipment and Universal Precautions.
General knowledge of assisted feeding, nourishment, and accurate record keeping.
General knowledge of ADL’s and psychological needs of the geriatric resident.
Knowledge of taking vital signs and weights and recording of the same.
Ability to cooperate with personnel from all departments.
Ability to remain levelheaded during emergencies.
Ability to treat resident information as confidential materials.

Responsibilities

Assists residents with bathing, oral care, incontinence care, ambulation, and activities.
Administers nourishment and performs minor treatments as assigned.
Observes residents and reports any unusual conditions, accidents, or incidents to the nurse.
Assists in accident and incident investigations.
Participates in resident care meetings.
Performs duties as instructed by written assignment, including activities of daily living, grooming and hygiene, transferring, ambulation, ROM, proper body alignment, and transporting residents to activities and appointments.
Assists with serving meals, feeding residents, and meal documentation.
Maintains orderly resident rooms and ensures call cords are within reach.
Makes rounds on assigned residents at the beginning of each shift and at least every hour thereafter.
Cares for clean and soiled linen.
Assists in the orientation and training of new C.N.A.'s.
Attends all required in-service training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
