About The Position

The CNA works in a collaborative environment at Holy Cross Health to deliver excellent patient care assistance under the supervision and direction of a designated health care professional in accordance with policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of CNA experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • As delegated by a licensed nurse, performs essential duties appropriate to role while assisting with basic to complex patient care needs.
  • Participates in direct one-to-one patient observation to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Assists delegated care team in keeping detailed records, clear communication and working with patients and families.
  • The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be assigned to function in either the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Nursing Assistant role.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.
