Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care within the scope of practice defined by New York State Nurse Aide Certification. CNAs are essential members of the healthcare team and play a key role in promoting resident comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Nurse Aide Certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team environment
  • BLS certification through RQI during clinical orientation

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Certified Nursing Assistant experience
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Provide compassionate support while promoting resident independence
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff
  • Assist with meals, hydration, and nutritional needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
  • Accurately document care and observations
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer service
