About The Position

Beloit Health System is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to join our Intermediate/Cardiac Stepdown Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital. This position offers a sign-on bonus and multiple shift options (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) with a schedule of 6:45a-3:15p, 2:45p-11:15p, or 10:45p-7:15a, working 24-32 hours per week. The role is benefits-eligible.

Requirements

  • Current CNA Certification with the Wisconsin registry.
  • CPR certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Prior CNA experience is helpful, but willing to train new graduates looking to start an exciting career in healthcare.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact positively with physicians, peers, and patients.
  • Possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Prior CNA experience is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs accurately and in a timely manner, reporting unusual signs and symptoms to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide personal hygiene care for patients such as bathing, oral care, hair/nail grooming, back rubs, etc., while maintaining a clean, safe environment and documents accordingly.
  • Assist patients with their nutritional needs and documents appropriately on the nursing record.
  • Assist patients with ambulation, transporting via wheelchair, stretcher or bed while maintaining safety for the patients.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges of patients and records on appropriate nursing forms.
  • Observe safety precautions including call lights within easy reach, bed positions in low, side rails up, proper use of safety restraints, and continuous rounding on all patients.
  • Initiates use of bed alarms when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital and/or physician related information while performing work related duties in a professional manner.
  • Assist with cardiac monitoring once they complete the EKG course/exam.
