About The Position
San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate CNA to join our NOC shift team. As a premier 99-bed skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield—conveniently located across from the city’s largest hospital—we provide 24-hour personal and clinical care to a diverse resident population. Requirements
- Minimum 10th grade education required.
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills for documentation and intake/output recording.
- Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to compassionate care.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Answer call lights promptly and ensure residents’ needs are met in a timely manner.
- Measure and record vital signs (TPRs), weights, intake and output as directed.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist residents during meals, including documenting food and fluid intake.
- Maintain clean and organized resident rooms and ensure residents remain dry and comfortable.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols, including bloodborne pathogen procedures.
- Accurately complete documentation and charting in accordance with facility policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all resident information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Immediately report incidents, injuries, abuse allegations, or safety concerns.
- Follow all established policies and procedures and perform duties as assigned by supervisors.
