Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and all regulations.
  • Adaptable and open to improvements that enhance patient care and facility operations.
  • Knowledge of safety, infection control, and departmental policies.
  • Basic computer skills for electronic documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Hearing and speaking ability sufficient for patient interaction and telephone communication.
  • Visual acuity for patient assessment and reading medical information.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted; regular bending, reaching, standing, and walking.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Active Wyoming CNA certification.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care within CNA scope of practice, following state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Deliver daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and linen changes.
  • Support mobility and comfort through positioning, lifting, and ambulation.
  • Prepare patients for meals, assist with feeding, and distribute snacks and fluids.
  • Obtain and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, intake/output).
  • Observe and report changes in physical or mental condition to supervising nurse.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and anticipate needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and support a culture of safety.
  • Perform all care in a manner that minimizes risk and prevents errors.
  • Attend required in-service education and department meetings.
  • Communicate clearly with nurses, management, and medical staff.
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
  • Answer telephones professionally and assist with unit operations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and organization under stressful situations.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support patient care and team success.
