About The Position
We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry CNA, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele CNA in our Medical Surgical and Telemetry Departments. The Med-Surg/Tele CNA assist nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed.
Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire
- Current BLS upon hire and maintain current
- Possess knowledge of Medical Terminology
Nice To Haves
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
- Ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning, and recognize when alarms go off to alert registered nurses.
- Monitor patients for any physical changes such as shortness of breath, chest pain, or altered mental status and quickly notify nursing staff.
