About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a para-professional member of the hospice team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs, to promote the patient's comfort, and a safe environment. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for observing patients and reporting/documenting these observations and the services provided.

Requirements

• At least eighteen years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently a State Registered Nurse Aide through the State Board of Nursing.
• Proof of completion of recognized CNA training program.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document given care.
• Satisfactory references from previous employers.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired.
• Understanding of the philosophy of hospice care and needs of the terminally ill.
• Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
• Must comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements, with personal auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 in bodily injury coverage.

Nice To Haves

• One year experience in hospital or nursing home setting.
