The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks essential to the direct care of the resident according to facility policy and procedures. This role works under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Supervisor, RN, LPN and is ultimately responsible to the Director and the Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. The CNA allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety/dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity. They assist with ensuring hygiene, appearance, safety and nutritional needs of residents are met, and provide resident care and services to maintain or improve resident functional status to highest practical ability. The role also involves accurately documenting in EMR resident's ADL care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors, and following universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
