This role provides patient care as assigned and per routine, adhering to educational scope, standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures. Responsibilities include answering call lights promptly, documenting care provided, maintaining a clean work and patient environment, managing supplies (scanning, stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired items), and floating to various units based on patient care needs. The position also involves participating in performance improvement activities, training/precepting new partners, monitoring blood glucose, performing bladder scans, attaching patients to cardiac monitors, managing collection devices (colostomy, ileostomy, fecal management systems, indwelling catheters, nasogastric tubes to suction, surgical drains), taking vital signs, and discontinuing certain invasive devices under the direction of a supervising RN.
