About The Position

This position is for the Cardiac and Stroke Unit at Bellevue Medical Center, a 36-bed unit specializing in the care of cardiac and stroke patients. Staff on this certified chest pain and stroke center care for patients requiring cardiac drips, manage heart failure patients, and provide post-stroke care and telemetry. The unit utilizes a Care Pair Model, pairing a nurse with a CNA to collaborate in caring for 5-6 patients as a team. This model aims to improve patient care, job satisfaction, and efficiency by allowing CNAs more time for patient care activities like bathing and ambulation, and enabling RNs to focus on assessments and orders. This approach has shown increased staff and patient satisfaction, improved quality data (e.g., CHG bathing), and a decrease in call light activations.
