About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant works in the Cardiac Care Unit – Post-Cardiac Surgery (CCUPCS), a 21-bed unit bridging intensive care and medical-surgical units. Patients require high-intensity nursing care and close surveillance for conditions and needs including ventricular assist devices, heart or lung transplants, artificial hearts, complicated post-cardiac surgical recovery, cardiac drips, external pacing, and SWANs. The position is available full-time or part-time, on day or night shifts.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant applicants must be at least 16 years old and hold a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Nebraska.
Certified Nursing Assistant applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills.
Certified Nursing Assistant applicants must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation.
Nursing Assistant applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school education or equivalent.
Nursing Assistant applicants must have six months of patient care experience or be enrolled in a nursing program.
Nursing Assistant applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills.
Nursing Assistant applicants must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire from an American Heart Association-endorsed program; this requirement applies to new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later.
