The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct care and supervision of residents and observes and reports resident conditions to the Individual Service Plan Team. This role involves providing compassionate and safe care, responding promptly to client needs, and assisting with monitoring vital signs. The CNA is responsible for recording signs and symptoms of illness, recognizing the need for medical intervention, and taking appropriate action. This includes monitoring vital signs, contacting physicians or emergency services, and adhering to all facility policies and procedures. The position also requires direct observation of residents taking medication, weighing residents, and completing end-of-shift reports. Regular monitoring of the house and residents, documenting observations and incidents, and ensuring a safe and clean environment are key responsibilities. The CNA must respond appropriately to emergencies, maintain resident confidentiality, and attend all staff meetings and training. Maintaining positive working relationships and demonstrating self-direction are also important. Additional duties include collecting urine for drug testing, answering phones, taking messages, and assisting residents with housekeeping and laundry.
