About The Position

Unity Psychiatric Care, a division of Franklin, Tennessee-based American Health Partners Inc., operates psychiatric hospitals in Memphis, Clarksville, Columbia, and Martin, Tennessee, as well as in Bridgeport and Huntsville, Alabama. These hospitals specialize in treating geriatrics who are experiencing a mental health crisis or behavioral disturbances, including those caused by dementia. Requirements

CNA Certification Required
CPI Certification will be trained at the next available class. Until then, the employee will not be assigned one-on-one patient care and will be supervised by a CPI certified healthcare professional.
CPR Certification will be trained at the next available class. Until then, the employee will not be assigned one-on-one patient care and will be supervised by a CPR certified healthcare professional.
CMS Restraint and Seclusion training (or training completed prior to direct patient care) with yearly refreshers.

Nice To Haves

One (1) to two (2) years’ in a mental health, patient care, or geriatric setting preferred

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of nurses.
Assists patients with daily living activities such as bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting.
Ensures the provision of a safe, therapeutic environment.
Provides crisis intervention.
Completes, files, and retrieves medical records.
Provides direct patient care such as bathing, dressing, and walking.
Transports patients and equipment.
Monitors patients for assessments and reports to supervisor.
Completes admission paperwork and patient orientation to the hospital.
Participates and assists with recreational activities for patients.
Participates and assists with therapeutic activities for patients.
