This is a part-time, weekend program position for a Certified Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator on the 1st shift. The role involves assisting RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation, as well as measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The position also includes performing purposeful rounding, assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensuring patient call lights are within reach and answered promptly. Responsibilities extend to collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, completing errands, maintaining nursing area stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. Nutritional needs and skin integrity are also addressed under RN direction. Additional duties may include IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans as required by unit needs. The role emphasizes practicing within infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile/aseptic procedures, and requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care.
