About The Position

Wesley Manor Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Certified Nursing Assistant — Float / Universal Care Aide to support resident care across the Health Care Center, Memory Care Center, and Assisted Living Center. This position is designed for a CNA who can be trained and scheduled to work in all three care areas based on operational need. The CNA Float provides hands-on, person-centered care while supporting resident dignity, comfort, safety, independence, and quality of life. This role requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to different care environments, including skilled nursing, memory care, and assisted living.

Requirements

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
  • Ability and willingness to be cross trained in Health Care Center, Memory Care Center, and Assisted Living Center operations.
  • Knowledge of basic resident care, medical terminology, infection control, and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in multiple care settings.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to resident care.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive when working with residents who have memory impairments or changing care needs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing staffing needs.
  • Must demonstrate emotional maturity, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to serve older adults.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, or memory care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional care to residents in accordance with Wesley Manor policies, resident care plans, and applicable scope of practice.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility, and personal hygiene.
  • Support residents with memory impairments, including Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, using patience, redirection, reassurance, and resident-centered communication.
  • Assist with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and transportation using proper techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, comfort, privacy, and safety during all care routines.
  • Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition, behavior, skin integrity, pain, intake, mobility, or safety concerns to licensed nursing staff or the assigned supervisor.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, toileting, and other resident information as directed.
  • Assist with hydration, nutrition, meals, snacks, and oral care, including brushing teeth and cleaning dentures when needed.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities, social engagement, and restorative routines when appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident care environment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to resident needs, call lights, concerns, and requests for assistance.
  • Communicate resident, family, or visitor concerns to the appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete assigned care by the end of the shift and provide appropriate shift-to-shift communication before leaving.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including protected health information, in accordance with HIPAA and facility policy.
  • Follow infection control, safety, resident rights, confidentiality, and documentation standards.
  • Work cooperatively with licensed nurses, department leaders, and care team members across HCC, MCC, and ALC.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
