The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the delegated authority of a registered nurse to perform nursing functions within their scope of practice and assist the nurse in collecting data for a nursing assessment under the supervision of a nurse. This role is part of a Float Pool, meaning the CNA may be assigned to function in either the Health Unit Coordinator or Nursing Assistant role or as a patient sitter in the ED. The position reports to the director of the unit.
