About The Position

North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ for over 40 years by offering a host of hospitality, wellness, and health care services. The CNA will contribute to a supportive and cooperative working environment, focusing on the well-being and success of all customers by being positive, flexible, and willing to help. The individual will partner with residents to provide resident-centered care, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and the preparation and serving of meals. This role is within Assisted Care/Enhanced Living.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course of study approved through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, Team Members and Visitors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to exhibit tact and patience when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with residents to provide resident-centered care including ADL’s and the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation and delivery, companion care, and transport on the North Hill campus.
  • Follow Medicare requirements and regulations when conducting certified home visits.
  • Follow all agency policy and procedure for care and services provided to all patients/residents.
  • Follow a written plan of care when providing direct patient care.
  • Ensure that training has been conducted by the Wellness Nurse.
  • Complete all required annual education on a timely basis.
  • Adhere to required policies and procedures related to confidentiality of personal health information of patients as required by HIPAA standards for medical information.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input for care coordination and collaboration.
  • Participate in department meetings, as required.
  • May participate in the clinical orientation of Certified Nursing Assistants as requested by their manager.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Attend new team member orientation and complete all required annual education and training.
