About The Position

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play an important role ensuring our residents have the support and services they need to thrive and enhance their quality of life. Requirements

  • Detail oriented individual with previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Physically capable, dependable, and prepared to actively engage in hands-on work, including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and safely lifting or moving up to 75 pounds in support of daily operations
  • Eager to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly absorb on-the-job training and apply new skills effectively to meet and exceed performance expectations
  • Certified as a CNA in Indiana and in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Prepares residents for the day or night as necessary by assisting with bathing, dressing, and activities of daily living.
  • Provides privacy during resident care.
  • Applies supportive devices, braces, hearing aids, etc.
  • Ensures that each resident receives oral care twice a day and hair grooming at least daily.
  • Provides non-medicated skin care which requires reading an assignment sheet, obtaining skin care product(s), and application to the skin. Reports unusual signs or symptoms to the charge nurse, director of nursing, and/or the health center administrator.
  • Assists residents with the following activities: Turning and positioning in bed at least every two (2) hours, Getting in and out of bed, Walking, Getting in and out of a chair or wheelchair, Getting on and off a toilet or commode, Getting in and out of a full tub or shower.
  • Distributes, removes, and cleans bedpans and urinals.
  • Clean, sterilize, store, prepare, and issue dressing packs, treatment trays, and other supplies
  • Serve and collect food trays and feed residents that require help
  • Observes and reports unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, and injuries to the charge nurse in a timely manner.
  • Communicates verbally with residents while carrying out procedures. Assures anxious and disoriented residents to alleviate fears and to put them at ease.
  • Responds to call lights by sight or sound in a timely manner and provides or obtains the necessary care.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
