This is a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position on the Med/Surg Unit 541, working nights. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. The CNA will also be responsible for measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and performing purposeful rounding. Responsibilities extend to assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring patient call lights are accessible, collecting specimens, and maintaining nursing area stock. The position requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs and skin integrity, and ensuring special patient supplies are provided. Depending on unit requirements and under RN direction, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles.
