The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for a wide range of patient care and operational duties. This includes locating and triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, assessing medical conditions, and preparing patients for treatment by Physicians and Nurses. The role requires proficiency in using the electronic medical record system, ordering supplies, and communicating patient status and needs to medical staff. CNAs assist with various patient treatments, perform lab duties including phlebotomy, sterilize instruments, and manage supplies and treatment room restocking. They are expected to report to the Charge Nurse, adhere to established policies and guidelines, and maintain cleanliness in treatment areas, including biological cleanup and laundry. The position also involves attending staff meetings, operating medical and office equipment, and completing assigned tasks within shifts. CNAs must be available to assist as needed, as breaks may be interrupted for patient care or center operations, and are expected to foster teamwork and provide positive, friendly service.
