About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks essential to the direct care of the resident according to facility policy and procedures. This is a 13-week temporary evening shift position. The role involves assisting residents with their daily living activities, ensuring their hygiene, appearance, safety, and nutritional needs are met, and documenting their care accurately in the EMR. The CNA must adhere to universal precautions and infection control standards.
Requirements
- 2 years Prior Nurse Aide work experience
- Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
Responsibilities
- Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety/dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
- Assists with ensuring hygiene, appearance, safety and nutritional needs of residents are met.
- Provides resident care and services to maintain or improve resident functional status to highest practical ability.
- Documents accurately in EMR resident's ADL care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors.
- Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
