Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Memory Care
About The Position
Assist residents in performing activities of daily living. This requires assisting with maintaining and/or improving the resident’s quality of life to the highest functional level. Participate in the daily care of residents such as checking schedules for resident appointments completing personal inventory upon admission, reporting care given and observations. Provide personal care to residents such as bathing, dressing, passes nourishment, collecting specimens of urine, stool, and sputum, performing post-mortem care. Assist with skincare and repositioning such as reporting skin breakdown, applying lotion, turning residents side to side, using mechanical lifts, toileting residents. Maintain an orderly and clean environment. Use safe procedures to prevent injuries to residents, self, and others. Complete required documentation such as intake/output forms, vitals and weight. Interact with residents, families, and other staff.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required or 4 years of relevant work experience
- Valid NYS CNA Certification
- The willingness to provide excellent age-appropriate care to residents
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle unpleasant sights and odors.
- Must be team-oriented
