Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), DeMay (Full-time, Evenings)
About The Position
As a Certified Nursing Assistant at DeMay Living Center, you will provide high-quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the nursing team. Taking initiative while assisting residents and maintaining patient care is important to the success of the team. The role is in the Subacute department at DeMay Living Center in Newark, New York, and is scheduled for 36 hours per week, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., including every other weekend. The position offers a posted base pay range of $20.00–$22.00, shift differentials of $1.50–$4.00, incentive opportunities, overtime at time-and-a-half, and a signing bonus of up to $4,500. CNAs work across multiple units, including a rehabilitation unit modeled after a med-surg setting, in a supportive environment focused on internal promotion.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be currently certified in New York State as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Be able to read, write, and speak English and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrate compassion, a patient-focused approach, dependability, and teamwork.
- Have exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior.

Responsibilities
- Provide or assist residents with activities necessary under their individualized care plans.
- Transport residents to and from activities as needed and provide leisure activities as needed.
- Perform evaluations and reporting.
- Provide residents and families with emotional support.
- Help maintain a clean and safe resident environment.
- Support families and direct them to appropriate professional staff.
- Respond to resident requests in a timely manner.
- Receive and give reports to team members and team leaders.
