The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member. The CNA provides excellence in patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are the hallmarks of the PCT-nurse-patient relationship. This role involves working on a telemetry unit specializing in general medical surgical and telemetry patients, including those with pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF, and chest pain. The unit also cares for post-operative patients from GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, and Heart Cath/PCI. The patient population often has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs, and patients are admitted/transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
