Requirements

  • Current Florida CNA License in good standing
  • Minimum one year of experience in home care, hospital, assisted living, or healthcare setting
  • Current CEUs as required by the State of Florida
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Compassionate, patient, professional, and dependable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a client's home
  • Ability to lift, transfer, or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Valid driver's license and reliable daily transportation
  • Current automobile insurance that includes Bodily Injury Liability coverage

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Hoyer lifts and safe transfer techniques preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and short shifts when needed

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with personal care, bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Supporting clients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation
  • Assisting with medication reminders as permitted by agency policy
  • Accompanying clients to medical appointments, errands, and community outings
  • Planning and preparing meals while monitoring nutritional needs
  • Performing safe transfers, including the use of gait belts, wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, and other mobility equipment as needed
  • Providing companionship and meaningful engagement activities
  • Completing light housekeeping and laundry related to client care
  • Grocery shopping and running essential errands
  • Observing and reporting changes in client condition, behavior, or environment
  • Responding promptly to client needs and emergencies
  • Accurately documenting care provided and client-related activities
  • Following agency policies, care plans, and safety procedures
  • Participating in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
