About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks essential to the direct care of the resident according to facility policy and procedures. This role works under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Supervisor, RN, LPN and is ultimately responsible to the Director and the Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Nursing Assistant/Aid required ONLY for new CNA grads within 120 days of program completion.
  • Certification: CPR/BLS (within 30 days of hire) required.
  • FA (within 30 days of hire) required.
  • C.NA license in the state of VA or compact required or board eligible
  • This primary source verification required only for new graduates without their license within 120 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
  • Assists with ensuring hygiene, appearance, safety and nutritional needs of residents are met.
  • Provides resident care and services to maintain or improve resident functional status to highest practical ability.
  • Documents accurately in EMR resident's ADL care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors.
  • Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
