About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time or part-time CNA for their Goleta program, working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The certified nursing assistant position provides quality nursing care to individuals served in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, transferring and moving individuals, communicating effectively, and supporting individuals according to their care plan.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED
• Graduate of an approved C.N.A program
• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in California
• Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
• Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a thorough background screening process and livescan fingerprinting
• Drug screen clearance
• Medical and tuberculosis skin test clearance
• Ability to administer CPR and first aid.
• Ability to properly restrain adult client.
• Ability to create and maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a certified nursing assistant is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, incontinence care.
• Transfers, lifts, moves, and transports individuals using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
• Communicates effectively and tactfully with individuals served, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Is knowledgeable of individualized care plans and provides support according to the individual's care plan.
