Simpson is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The career of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in skilled nursing involves providing direct, compassionate, high-quality care to patients in a long-term care skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent (ie: GED)
  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification issued by PA Department of Health
  • Minimum 1 Year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Patient Care: skilled in providing direct care to patients, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring vital signs, and assisting with mobility.
  • Communication: effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers; able to communicate clearly and professionally and document patient care accurately.
  • Compassion: able to provide physical and emotional support with compassion and empathy, including listening to patients, providing emotional support, and addressing patient concerns and fears.
  • Teamwork: able to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including nurses, therapists, and physicians, to provide the best possible care for patients.
  • Safety and Infection Control: knowledgeable about safety and infection control procedures, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and proper disposal of medical waste.
  • Record-Keeping: accurate record-keeping and ability to document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Professionalism: always maintain a professional demeanor, including following facility policies and procedures, respecting patient privacy, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with patients and their families.
  • Time Management: able to manage time effectively to ensure that all patient care needs are met, including prioritizing tasks, organizing workloads, and managing time efficiently.
  • Continuous Learning: committed to continuous learning and professional development, including staying up to date on industry trends and best practices and seeking out opportunities for continuing education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Abides by and adhere to sanitary conditions at all times using universal precautions – frequent hand washing, wearing appropriate gloves, etc.
  • Maintains uniform in a clean sanitary condition following guidelines of Simpson dress code policy.
  • Always follow Resident Right’s.
  • Answer Resident call bells promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain Residents room is clean and orderly.
  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): CNAs in skilled nursing facilities help patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other daily activities as needed.
  • Monitoring Vital Signs: CNAs check and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate.
  • Assisting with Mobility: CNAs help patients move around the facility safely, using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids as needed.
  • Assisting with Rehabilitation: CNAs may work with physical or occupational therapists to help patients with exercises or other rehabilitation activities.
  • Documenting Patient Care: CNAs are responsible for documenting patient care accurately and in a timely manner, including vital signs, daily care activities, and any changes in patient condition.
  • Providing Emotional Support: CNAs offer emotional support to patients and their families, including listening to concerns and providing reassurance.
  • Maintaining a Safe and Clean Environment: CNAs help maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, including ensuring that rooms are clean and free from hazards.
  • Following Facility Policies and Procedures: CNAs follow facility policies and procedures to ensure that patient care is consistent and high-quality.
  • Communicating with Other Healthcare Providers: CNAs work closely with other healthcare providers, including nurses, physicians, and therapists, to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Provide appropriate post-mortem care.
  • Enforce proper safety precautions with oxygen therapy
  • Participating in Professional Development: CNAs are committed to continuous learning and professional development, seeking out opportunities for training and continuing education to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize Relias Training online to update skills and continuing education in accordance with state regulation each calendar year.
  • Other duties as assigned.
