The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member. The CNA provides excellence in patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are the hallmarks of the PCT-nurse-patient relationship. This role involves working on telemetry units specializing in general medical surgical and telemetry patients, including those with conditions like pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF, and chest pain, as well as post-operative patients. The patient population often has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs, with patients admitted or transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
