About The Position

Boone Memorial Health is looking for dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our Nursing team. As a CNA, you'll play a vital role in supporting our patients and nurses by delivering quality care, promoting comfort and dignity, and helping create a positive healing environment. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and supports nursing staff by assisting patients with activities of daily living, monitoring basic health measures, and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA delivers compassionate, patient-centered care while following hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
  • Current West Virginia CNA certification in good standing.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Help patients with meals, feeding, hydration, and nutritional support.
  • Take and accurately document vital signs, intake and output, and report changes in patient condition.
  • Safely transfer, reposition, transport, and assist patients with mobility and ambulation.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient call lights and requests.
  • Maintain patient comfort by changing linens, keeping rooms clean, and providing comfort measures.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide outstanding patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
  • Participate in required in-service education, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.
