About The Position

This is a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position working night shifts (NOC) with 12-hour shifts. The role involves assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) skillfully and with consideration for individual needs, providing personal hygiene, and implementing skin care measures according to the Skin Care Program. The CNA will use assistive devices for ambulation, dressing, and eating, and provide preventative maintenance and rehabilitative measures. The position also includes promoting resident participation in activities, providing care as outlined in the Negotiated Service Plan, and performing basic technical skills. Responsibilities extend to assisting residents with nutrition and fluid intake, aiding with bladder and bowel elimination, adjusting care for physical and/or mental limitations, accurately monitoring vital signs, weight, intake and output, and collecting specimens. The role also involves replenishing and ordering supplies, reporting maintenance needs, supporting facility policies, completing cleaning tasks, providing care for dying residents and postmortem care, and orienting new staff members.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Current CNA licensure in the State of Washington.
  • Must be listed on the Registry with a current license in the State of Washington.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with elderly and/or disabled individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with ADL’s skillfully with consideration for individual needs.
  • Provides personal hygiene measures appropriately.
  • Utilizes measures that promote good skin care following the Skin Care Program.
  • Uses assistive devices in ambulation, dressing and eating.
  • Provides preventative maintenance and rehabilitative measures, i.e. ambulation, ROM, positioning, dressing, allowing opportunity for self-care.
  • Promotes residents’ participation in activities.
  • Provides care outlined in the Negotiated Service Plan.
  • Performs competently those technical skills considered basic to the scope of service.
  • Assists the resident in the provision of adequate nutrition, including fluid intake and supplements.
  • Follows procedures to aid adequate bladder and bowel elimination/retraining.
  • Adjusts for physical and/or mental limitations.
  • Demonstrates accurate monitoring of body functions in vital signs, weight, intake and output measurements and collection of specimens.
  • Replenishes and orders supplies.
  • Reports all maintenance needs promptly.
  • Supports and promotes unit, department, and facility policies, procedures and goals.
  • Completes assigned cleaning tasks according to established schedule.
  • Provides care for the dying resident and provides postmortem care.
  • Provides orientation for new staff members.
