This is a Full Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position on the Neuro/Tele unit, working 3 12-hour night shifts per week (7p-7a). The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and patient data, as well as accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The CNA will perform purposeful rounding, communicate patient needs to the RN, and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes. They will ensure patient call lights are within reach and answered promptly, collect specimens, and maintain competencies. Additional duties include running errands, ordering stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting and pushing/pulling. The CNA will also assist with nutritional needs, skin integrity, and provide special patient supplies. Under RN direction, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. The role requires adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of aseptic procedures. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles.
