About The Position
Iris Memory Care of Edmond is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. This role involves providing hands-on, compassionate care to seniors living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The community is a freestanding memory care assisted living facility with 40 residents, offering an intimate environment where team members know each resident. As an age-in-place community, CNAs will care for residents across the full spectrum of dementia-related diseases.
Requirements
- Active listing on the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry (required)
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable work history — consistency matters deeply to our residents
- Ability to meet continuing education and certification requirements for your position
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year of experience working with older adults preferred
- Experience in memory care or with dementia residents strongly preferred
- Genuine warmth, patience, and compassion for those living with memory loss
Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately and in accordance with physician orders and community protocols
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal care, dining, and mobility
- Support residents with life enrichment activities and social-recreational programming
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean, comfortable, home-like environment
- Monitor and document vital signs and monthly weights
- Offer emotional and physical comfort and support to residents and families
- Uphold each resident’s dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality at all times
