The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists professional and technical nursing personnel by performing a variety of duties and procedures directly related to patient care. This role involves accurately measuring and recording patient weights and vital signs, recognizing and reporting changes in patient conditions, and documenting all activities. CNAs are responsible for assisting patients with hygiene, elimination, routine skin care, comfort measures, and other Activities of Daily Living (ADL), always maintaining patient privacy and respect. They also ensure a clean and safe unit environment, adhere to Infection Control procedures and HIPAA compliance, and assist with patient care activities as directed by a licensed nurse, including specimen collection/transport, turning & positioning, and patient transportation. The position requires active engagement in caring behaviors, conscious ownership of work, and proactive, deliberate, and thoughtful actions, demonstrating appropriate use of independent judgment and decision-making.
