The Certified Nursing Assistant - Interpreter at our Wilson Community Health Center in Wilson, NC, assists the medical provider and nursing staff with day-to-day clinical activities. This position will also provide language services to Spanish speaking patients and families to help them communicate with medical providers and staff. This position reports to the Clinical Site Manager. THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORKWEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, BI-ANNUAL BONUS, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate from an accredited program for nursing assistants and certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Must be a team player and willing to perform repetitive and routine tasks.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • BLS Certification
  • Accredited program for nursing assistants (CNA)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for escorting patients back to the exam room and preparing the patient for examination by accurately taking and recoding vital signs, obtaining and recording a brief history and directing the patient to prepare for the exam.
  • Notify the nurse or medical provider if a patient appears acutely ill or if vitals are outside of normal limits.
  • Maintain exam rooms with the necessary supplies.
  • Track, organize, and order supplies for the clinical area.
  • Assist the medical provider in performing tasks and procedures such as, chaperone on physical exams, assists with pap smears and fecal occult blood testing, ECGs, etc.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment per procedure and provide proper documentation of task performed.
  • Complete the proper documentation of patient information while adhering to patient confidentiality.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms. This includes but is not limited to registration forms, evaluation cards, past medical history, and adult comprehensive history and physical form, etc.
