Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Apprenticeship Program
About The Position
UTMB Health is accepting applications for our Certified Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program (Cohort 16). This program offers full-time employment and benefits as a Hospital Aide, with a minimum starting wage of $15/hour and progressive increases during the first year. Apprentices will receive paid on-the-job learning and classroom instruction approved by Texas Health and Human Services. The program includes a full year of mentorship by clinical instructors and experienced Patient Care Technicians. Upon successful completion of the training, apprentices will be promoted to Patient Care Technician and become eligible to register for the CNA exam.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including prolonged standing and lifting more than 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Participate in paid on-the-job learning and classroom instruction approved by Texas Health and Human Services.
- Receive mentorship by clinical instructors and experienced Patient Care Technicians for a full year.
- Successfully complete the training program.
- Upon successful completion, be promoted to Patient Care Technician.
- Upon successful completion, become eligible to register for the CNA exam.
