We are recruiting for a mission-driven Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Acute Care - Medical/Oncology to join our team! The 9A Med/Surg unit, specifically Telemetry Medicine/Surgical Oncology (9 East), involves nurses obtaining an Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider credential and administering chemotherapy to inpatients. This unit is innovative, developing new processes to allow staff to work at the highest level of licensure and certification. Since June 2020, 9A has been caring for COVID-19 patients and excels in high acuity medical protocols developed during the pandemic. It is often seen as a pipeline to critical care, the Emergency Department, and other departments due to the unique skills learned. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 and the CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:12 most days. Under close supervision, this role assists professional nursing and care providers in providing care to all patients with respect for their uniqueness. The CNA collaborates with the RN and healthcare team, assists with basic patient care and activities of daily living, maintains unit-specific documentation, and orders, maintains, and utilizes supplies for the assigned unit.
