Lutheran SeniorLife provides a comprehensive array of community-based health and social service programs throughout western Pennsylvania, including LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly), skilled nursing, home health, personal care, adoption & foster care, assisted living, adult day services, memory care, hospice, palliative care, residential living, affordable housing, home safety monitoring, Meals on Wheels, rehabilitation services and private duty. The LIFE program serves residents in Armstrong, Butler, Beaver, and Lawrence Counties, offering all-inclusive comprehensive services to help individuals maintain independence in their home and community through supportive services, from medical care to adult day supports. The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) performs basic duties to assist participants in maintaining an environment consistent with their needs. This includes assisting participants with mobility exercises to enhance independence and maintain current functioning levels. The CNA provides care across various settings (center or home) to ensure participant satisfaction and retention. Specific assistance includes walking, transfers, use of mobility devices, getting to and from restrooms, toileting, providing incontinence care, feeding, showering, getting in and out of transportation vehicles, and socialization at the center. Successful performance requires knowledge and support of the mission and core values of the LIFE Program, along with a commitment to teamwork.
