About The Position

The Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) at Freedom Village Holland provides personal and non-personal care to residents, supporting their independent living while offering necessary assistance. The role emphasizes promoting resident dignity, safety, and engagement, and requires maintaining accurate records of care and observations. CNAs are expected to respond promptly to resident needs and "Call for Aide" alerts.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to document care accurately
• Ability to transfer residents (50+ lbs) with proper equipment/support

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs as indicated
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and bed changes
• Escort residents to dining, therapy, activities, and appointments
• Make daily rounds to ill residents
• Keep Supervisor informed of resident status
• Monitor medication compliance
• Assist with tray service and meal support
• Participate in ongoing resident assessments
• Attend weekly update and Health Committee meetings
• Support residents and families as needed
• Attend in-service training and education sessions
• Perform additional duties as assigned
