About The Position
La Clinica de Familia (LCDF), a Federally Qualified Health Center with several locations in Southern New Mexico, provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and educational services to people of all cultures. The Certified Nurse Practitioner provides direct primary care health services to LCDF patients within the scope of applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing to practice, or eligible for licensure.
- Board certification in a primary care specialty.
- DEA certification.
- New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification.
- Current New Mexico driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Knowledge of health management and service delivery.
- Knowledge of and experience with the poverty-level population and their lifestyles.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of staff members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to be self-initiating, adaptable, responsive to patient needs, and work independently.
- Cultural competence with the Hispanic population.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures relevant to primary care duties.
- Effective communication and patient education skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are desirable.
- Additional training in primary care, such as diabetes education or women's health, is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct primary care health services to LCDF patients within the scope of laws and regulations.
- Formulate and implement appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and resource agencies.
- Communicate with and educate patients effectively.
- Work independently and solve problems.
