About The Position
Southwoods Health is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its specialized Ortho Spine team in Boardman, Ohio. This full-time role involves identifying, evaluating, and managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal and spine-related issues while working collaboratively with medical staff to provide a seamless, high-quality clinical experience for patients. The position includes patient care, communication with the medical team about inpatient and outpatient consultations, referrals, and treatment plans, patient and family education, maintaining medical records and treatment plans in accordance with state regulatory standards, and direct assistance in the operating room during orthopedic and spine surgeries. Requirements
- Active Ohio state license as a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Active DEA license.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Nice To Haves
- Previous orthopedic or spine experience is a plus; recent graduates are welcome and highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat acute, prolonged, and long-term spine and musculoskeletal healthcare issues.
- Communicate with the medical team regarding inpatient or outpatient consultations, provider referrals, and specialized treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about preventive care, complex spinal conditions, and proper medication usage.
- Maintain accurate, legible medical records and comprehensive treatment plans in accordance with state regulatory standards.
- Assist directly in the operating room during orthopedic and spine surgeries.
