Erie Family Health Centers, a top workplace in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Reproductive Health team! Certified Nurse Midwives will provide primary health care service to patients in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease and surveillance of pregnancy. Acts as primary health care provider with the scope of his/her primary care specialty. Performs physical examinations on new and return clients. Refers patients to specialists as necessary. Documents all patient care activities. Maintain a productivity level necessary to reach mandated annual level of encounters.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice
  • Certification as a nurse midwife
  • Basic rescuer CPR Certification
  • Advance Practice Registered Nurse – Certified Nurse Midwife license in Illinois
  • Certification as a nurse midwife
  • At least 3 years of ambulatory CNM experience preferred
  • Comfortable covering a busy L&D

Responsibilities

  • Provides full scope nurse-midwifery services including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as well woman care and family planning according to established protocols and per agreement with collaborating physician.
  • Maintains active hospital delivery privileges as requested.
  • Performs history and physical exam on new and return clients.
  • Manages acute and chronic illness according to established protocols and/or in collaboration with physician.
  • Provides follow-up health care providers or community agencies as necessary.
  • Performs procedures such as colposcopy, contraceptive implant insertion/removal, IUD insertion/removal, cryotherapy etc. with appropriate training, proctoring and privileging.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
