Certified Nurse Midwife - Per Diem
About The Position
Vancouver Clinic is seeking a per diem, hospital-based Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their dynamic and growing team. The department consists of 15 midwives dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care within a hospital setting, emphasizing midwifery-led care and continuity. CNMs serve as primary providers for low- to moderate-risk patients, collaborating with OB/GYN physicians and other advanced practice clinicians. Midwives deliver at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, offering full-scope inpatient care including supporting physiologic birth, water births, managing VBACs, and participating in cesarean sections. This role does not include an outpatient component.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of clinical experience including inpatient care as a midwife.
- Must be a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- Availability to work at least 1 shift/month preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary care for low- to moderate-risk patients.
- Collaborate with physician colleagues for higher-acuity care.
- Deliver full-scope inpatient care at local hospitals.
- Support physiologic birth.
- Attend water births.
- Manage VBACs.
- Participate in cesarean sections for midwifery patients as part of an integrated care team.
