Certified Nurse Midwife
About The Position
Allina Health is hiring a Certified Nurse Midwife for a full-time position at Mercy Women's Clinic, with deliveries at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The role provides care during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, immediate newborn care following birth, family planning, and gynecologic needs. The CNM coordinates patient care with Perinatal, Neonatal, and Birth Center team members. The CNM group independently provides labor support, water birth, and VBAC/TOLAC services, with collaborative support from in-house obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine groups. The team attends approximately 40–50 births per month across three affiliated clinics and highlights a “natural birth experience,” including nontraditional care in the hospital. The position follows Nurse Midwifery Practice standards established by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and Minnesota statute. The role includes professional liability insurance with tail coverage. The system-wide team includes more than 15 Certified Nurse Midwives and offers opportunities for research, mentoring CNM and NP students, quality-improvement projects, and participation in whole-person population health initiatives. The position is located at Mercy Women's Health Clinic, 3960 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. It is a 40-hour-per-week role with variable shift length and day, evening, or night shifts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Formal education as a nurse practitioner.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Minnesota Board of Nursing, required upon hire.
- Certified Nurse Midwife credential from the Minnesota Board of Nursing, required upon hire.
- AMCB American Midwifery Certification Board certification, required upon hire.
- Meet at least one of the following: current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; current BLS certification from the American Red Cross; or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

- Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
- One year of Certified Nurse Midwife experience.
Responsibilities
