About The Position

Sutter East Bay Medical Group’s OB/CNM Hospitalist Program is seeking a per-diem Certified Nurse Midwife to provide coverage as needed, including for unexpected open shifts, at Alta Bates in Berkeley, California. Alta Bates is a regional referral center with a level 3 NICU. The team serves two perinatology groups and several FQHCs, attends transfers from out-of-hospital birth centers and home births, and cares for unassigned patients. CNMs manage low-risk inductions and labors as well as many moderate- and high-risk pregnancies, working collaboratively with the OB and MFM teams.

The staffing model includes two OBs and one CNM on 12-hour shifts, plus one OB rounder each day. The per-diem CNM must be available on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, and is expected to cover two short-notice call-outs per year, at least one of which must be a night shift.

Sutter East Bay Medical Group is a multispecialty medical group with more than 600 clinicians practicing in over 25 specialties across Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. It is affiliated with Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation, a not-for-profit healthcare organization that provides operational and administrative support.

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted California license.
• Active California DEA license.
• Availability on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
