Provides comprehensive care of adolescent and adult women in reproductive health, focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and the family planning and gynecological needs of women. The certified nurse-midwife practices within a health care system that provides for consultation, collaborative management or referral as indicated by the health status of the client. In conjunction with the health center’s Chief of OB/GYN , midwifes, obstetricians and Chief Medical Officer, develops clinical protocols for nurse-midwifery practice. This key team members works as part of a holistic primary care clinic – working collaboratively with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, community health workers, nursing staff, addictions specialists, pharmacists, eye care providers, dentists, infectious disease providers and other clinical specialists in the service of equitable, accessible, comprehensive, patient centered care.
