As a CNA Instructor, you will provide high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical instruction that prepares students for New York State CNA certification while instilling professionalism, confidence, accountability, and a passion for caring for others.
Requirements
- Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Required (non-negotiable)
- Minimum of two years of experience working as a CNA, LPN, or in a related healthcare field.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or training others in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Curriculum development and instructional planning experience.
- Simulation-based or hands-on clinical teaching experience.
- Previous experience preparing students for state certification examinations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet New York State CNA curriculum requirements.
- Teach classroom, laboratory, and hands-on patient care skills.
- Evaluate student performance and provide coaching and feedback to support student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and certification records.
- Prepare students to successfully complete certification requirements and begin rewarding healthcare careers.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to ensure student success.
- Incorporate current healthcare best practices and industry standards into instruction.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students as they develop both technical and professional skills.
