About The Position
BG@Home is seeking Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Caregiver team members to provide in-home support to clients. This role emphasizes promoting independence and mobility, with a focus on the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of the elderly. The ideal candidate will possess compassion and a desire to work with seniors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience in all aspects of long-term care for the elderly required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be a Certified Nurse's Aide listed on the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry with an active certification and be in good standing.
- Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
- Willingness to travel to clients throughout Charleston County
- Has reliable transportation to and from James Island.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care for clients, including bathing, showering, shampooing, oral hygiene, skin care, hair care, nail care, dressing, and shaving as needed.
- Assist clients with nutritional needs including serving, feeding, and providing proper fluid requirements.
- Assist with proper restorative care including range-of-motion exercises, proper positioning, and ambulation.
- Encourage client independence and optimal level of functioning.
- Exercise standard precautions of infection control in all client care.
- Exchange client information with supervisor via communications binder.
- Launder clients’ personal items as needed.
- Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor.
